HEARTY SNACKS
We understand the importance of nutrition in supporting our students' growth and energy. The Millbrae Elementary School District offers both lunch and supper for each student, ensuring they stay focused and ready to learn throughout the day. Snack time also provides a valuable opportunity for students to build social connections and practice responsibility in a communal setting.

DESIREE
Director
Desiree serves as the Assistant Director, holding a Bachelors of Arts in Social Work and a Masters of Social Work. With a diverse background encompassing management and teaching roles in both the Bay Area and the East Coast, Desiree brings a wealth of experience in supporting students and families to achieve their goals. Certified in first aid and CPR, proficient in Microsoft Office, and bilingual in Spanish, Desiree prioritizes creating inclusive environments and effective communication across cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Outside of work, she finds joy in hiking, beach outings, traveling, and embracing new adventures, guided by the motto, "Never let the fear of striking out, keep you from playing the game."
GABI
Teacher
Gabi previously worked at KE Camps, specifically at the Green Hills Country Club location. Her daily routine included taking attendance, organizing group ice breakers, and preparing children for the day's activities. She also assisted the camp director in planning games and activities that were fun and engaging for all age groups. In her free time, Gabi enjoys going to the beach, embarking on long hikes, and doing fun activities with friends. Her guiding principle is, "Your belief in your students makes them believe in themselves."
MEGHAN
Teacher
Meghan, currently pursuing her bachelor's in Business Administration, has previously donned multiple hats - from a swim aid teacher to a barista. Her diverse experience lends well to her skills in classroom management and childcare. A lover of baking and cooking, Meghan also enjoys studying car mechanics and spending quality time with her pets.
MATT
Lead Teacher
Matt Howell combines his educational background from City College of San Francisco with hands-on experience from the Boys & Girls Club of the Peninsula, where he led a STEAM program for young learners. His prior role as a Fan Engagement Intern with the 49ers honed his event organization skills. Away from work, Matt’s pursuits include outdoor adventures with his dogs, enjoying sports, and contributing to a non-profit focused on harm reduction. He lives by the ethos: “To be kind is more important than to be right. Many times, what people need is not a brilliant mind that speaks but a special heart that listens.” - F. Scott Fitzgerald
JANET
Teacher
Janet, with her liberal arts background from Skyline College and a B.A. in English from SFSU, has honed her skills teaching English abroad in Taiwan. She brings a blend of traditional teaching and a love for the outdoors, having worked at an outdoor-centric preschool in San Francisco. A dedicated mom of two, Janet finds joy in Polynesian dance and gardening, exploring the therapeutic benefits of plants and herbs.
ROSA
Teacher
Rosa, currently attending San Mateo college, honed her multitasking and communication skills while working in fast food. She's also volunteered at school events, further solidifying her connection with children. Passionate about nature and family, Rosa integrates these elements to provide a homely and engaging environment for students.
ARIEL
Teacher
Ariel, a Skyline College associate and a graduate in Education from California State University, previously contributed to the ASES program for Creative Brain in Los Angeles. She's not only adept at classroom management and parent-teacher communication, but also brings her love for crocheting, hiking, and Tahitian dancing to create a vibrant and enriching atmosphere for students.
JANETZY
Teacher
Janetzy is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology at San Francisco State University. She has dedicated her time to various organizations, including the Mid-Peninsula Boys & Girls Club, where she worked at different sites like Lomita Park and Taylor Middle School. She has also worked with Elevo, focusing on the San Bruno School District at John Muir and Belle Air Elementary. At both, Janetzy was responsible for creating curriculum and fostering a healthy, interactive environment for students to grow. In her free time, Janetzy enjoys drawing and using her art to express her love for her Latino community. She also loves hiking, attending concerts, and exploring new coffee shops. Her motto is, "Échale ganas!"
SOEMI
Teacher
Soemi is currently attending Skyline College and brings with her a wealth of experience. She formerly served as an After-School Teacher for CAM Educational Services, aiding K-5 students with homework and designing fun art activities. When she's not focusing on classroom management and nurturing a positive learning environment, Soemi enjoys spending quality time at the gym and with her loved ones.
EMELY
Teacher
Emely is preparing to start nursing school next year to pursue her LVN, with the goal of becoming a Registered Nurse. She previously worked as a nurse assistant at Cadence, where she helped patients with their daily routines and activities. Before that, she gained experience at a long-term care facility, starting as a Healthcare Provider (HCP) and earning her nurse assistant license, accompanying patients to their medical appointments. In her free time, Emely enjoys painting, walking on the beach, and visiting the aquarium and zoo with her family.
JORDAN
Teacher
With a background in working with children of diverse age groups at the San Bruno Recreational center and the San Bruno Library, Jordan is passionate about creating a stimulating environment for students. Her strengths lie in communication and classroom management. In her leisure time, Jordan is drawn to the world of arts, enjoying activities like drawing, coloring, and immersing herself in music and reading.
