Director's Message
Happy December, Happy Hall families! I hope your Thanksgiving was filled with family and friends! We are so thankful for our Ocean Shore community and the joy it brings to our school. As we welcome the new month, we are excited to jump into a season full of fun, learning, and memorable moments together!
Program Highlights
Engagement Activities
This December, school-age children will dive into the fascinating world of basic chemical reactions, making observations and predictions as they explore cause-and-effect and witness some amazing reactions. Alongside this, we’ll delve into the wonders of marine life with engaging discussions about ocean giants. As the month progresses, we’ll also sprinkle in some festive holiday and winter-themed activities. Be sure to take a look around the room to see the exciting projects already on display!
Our preschoolers are busy this month, and our class is growing as we welcome new friends! We are focusing on letters and numbers, building self-help skills, and strengthening fine motor skills through engaging teacher-led activities in small groups. These activities include free art, playdough exploration, scissor practice, paper tearing, and much more to develop those important fine motor muscles. Throughout December, keep an eye out for more art projects filling the room, inspired by winter themes and seasonal fun!
Professional Development
Recently, many of us updated our CPR and First Aid certifications, reinforcing our commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of those around us. It is important to us to have our team up to date and fully prepared to respond effectively in case of an emergency.
Community Events
There are so many fun holiday events happening around town! I encourage you to check out the Winter Bazaar at Ocean Shore School, a fundraising event for Pacifica, that promises to be a fun time! The Bazaar will take place after school on Thursday, 12/12, from 2–5:30 PM. Please note that Happy Hall WILL NOT be escorting children to the Bazaar.
Happy Hall-idays School-Age families! Please join us for an afternoon of fun on Wednesday, December 18, from 4–6 PM in the Happy Hall portable! Enjoy hot chocolate and participate in simple crafts with your children. This family event is a wonderful opportunity to connect, create, and share quality time with your children and other families in our community. We look forward to seeing you there!
Happy Hall-idays Preschool families! Please join us for an afternoon of fun on December 18 from 4-5 pm in the preschool portable! Join your child for crafts, light snacks, and hot chocolate as we celebrate winter and the holiday season together! I encourage you to come and spend time with your child and get to know new families in our preschool community! We are asking for each family to bring a dozen homemade or store bought cookies, where we will allow each family to make their own cookie box to take home! Look for more information about this event in a separate email soon!

Student Achievements
Star Student has been going great! Congratulations to our November winners: Lisbeth, Sadie, Riley, Anaise, Liam, Tessa, Emma, Noah, Frederick, and Blair—way to go! These students have showcased their amazing skills in a variety of ways, from cooperation and imagination to everything in between. Keep up the fantastic work!
Reminders
School-age families, please remember to notify Happy Hall if your child will be absent from the program or leaving school early. Safety is our top priority, and if your child does not arrive at the program after school, we will begin searching for them. If we are unable to determine their whereabouts, we will contact parents for confirmation. Thank you for helping us ensure all children are safe and accounted for! Looking Ahead
As we look ahead into the new year, our school-age program will continue diving into fascinating topics such as Oceans & Marine Life, exploring the wonders of Inventions & Inventors, and uncovering the secrets behind Movie Magic. There’s so much excitement and learning ahead.
For our preschool families, stay tuned for details about an upcoming family fun event celebrating the Lunar New Year—a wonderful opportunity to come together and explore traditions, culture, and creativity with your little ones. We’re looking forward to an exciting start to the year!
