Director's Message
We are so excited to welcome back our children and families, and to extend a big welcome to those who are starting our program for the first time. This year, we look forward to renewing, developing, and encouraging a strong, supportive community of children and families.
We’re also thrilled to welcome back our dedicated staff:
Ms. Leah & Ms. Hayley – Group 1
Ali & Lauren – Group 2
Mr. Vince – 1:1 Support
Ms. Emma – Lead Teacher
Ms. Maya – Group 3
Mr. Allan – Group 4
And we are excited to introduce our newest team member, Ms. Ahtziri!
As we begin the new year, please note that we are in a transition period. We are restarting schedules and adjusting from summer, just as the children are. Thank you for your patience and support as we all settle into the school-year rhythm.
I look forward to reconnecting with familiar faces and getting to know all of you even better. Here’s to a fantastic year ahead!
Program Highlights
Engagement Activities
We are beginning the school year with a welcoming theme centered on building a strong sense of community, inclusivity, and belonging. Through engaging activities and thoughtful discussions, students have been exploring goal-setting, celebrating diversity, and working together to create a classroom environment where everyone feels valued.
As we move into our next theme, “Community,” students will be learning about the people, places, and systems that make up their local surroundings. This theme is designed to help students better understand their role within the community and inspire them to become actively involved in strengthening and positively contributing to the environments around them.
Professional Development
Prior to the start of the school year, staff participated in annual safety training as well as professional development sessions focused on building strong staff connections, ensuring safety within our schools, and strengthening classroom management. In addition, our team engaged in discussions on developing meaningful relationships with children and families, as well as creating environments that encourage growth and development for every child.
Community Events
I truly enjoyed seeing all the families at Back to School Night on Thursday. It was a wonderful way to start the school year and celebrate our supportive school community. I am looking forward to more events in the upcoming months, including our Halloween Celebration and Thankful Potluck.
Reminders
Please remind your child that toys, collectibles, and other personal items from home should not be brought to Happy Hall, as we are unable to take responsibility for items that may be lost, broken, or misplaced.
If your child will be absent from Happy Hall, please notify us by phone at (650) 872-2585, by email at meadows@happyhall.com, or by submitting an absence through 1Core.
Looking Ahead
Next month, we will conclude our “Community” theme and begin exploring “The Natural World.” This theme offers an in-depth look at the diverse ecosystems and environmental factors that shape our planet. Through hands-on activities, experiments, and observations, children will develop an appreciation for nature, gain a deeper understanding of biological diversity, and learn the importance of caring for the environment.
