Director's Message
April is here and we are excited to spend time enjoying the sunshine, doing some planting and learning how to take care of the earth.
Program Highlights
Engagement Activities
We are diving into all things springtime! With themes focused on gardening, bugs, and caring for the Earth, the children will be busy digging in the soil, planting seeds, and eagerly watching things grow.
Throughout the month, we’ll continue learning about how to protect our planet—like recycling at home and being mindful of water use. These hands-on experiences are helping to build awareness and a sense of responsibility for the world around them.
In addition to exploring these exciting seasonal topics, we are practicing important foundational skills, including cutting, drawing, and creating. During our morning small group times, we’re also continuing to build on letter recognition, numbers, and counting.
And for our children moving up to Kindergarten soon—graduation prep has already begun! Don’t be surprised if you hear some new songs being sung around the house as they practice for the ceremony taking place the morning of June 25.
Professional Development
We have planned our full summer curriculum and are excited to share all the fun to come with you. Watch for the summer calendar to come out within the next few weeks.
Community Events
Thank you all for joining us for the multicultural potluck in March. There was so much wonderful food and it was great to spend time with all of you. It is so great we get to spend time as a diverse community. We had a successful event with Rocket Dog Rescue. Children enjoyed the art activities and playing with lots of puppies! Four dog adoptions came from the event so we are honored to have been part of their story in finding their forever homes.
Thank you also for your donations for our Spring Egg hunt! There were so many eggs and fun toys and candies inside. The children had a great time collecting them and learning to count out 12 items.
Reminders
Attendance/ Policy Reminders: Gentle reminder about general policies or attendance policies and encouragement for consistent participation. *Note: If including notes about UPP policies, be sure to specify!
Looking Ahead
Spring Picture Day: Mark your calendars for Spring Picture Day on Wednesday, April 30, from 8 AM to 11:30 AM. All children are invited to participate. Those entering Kindergarten in the fall will also have graduation pictures taken. If you'd like to include siblings in a photo, please let us know.
