Happy New Year! ¡Feliz Año Nuevo! Gung hei faat choi!  We are excited to start a new year of fun and learning together with your kids.
Estamos emocionados de comenzar un nuevo año de diversión y aprendizaje junto con sus hijos.
Program Highlights/ Aspectos Destacados del Programa
Engagement Activities/ Actividades de Participación:
In 2024 we will continue to learn about the world through Science, Art, Engineering, and Technology.  In January we learned about Sound and Music. This theme combines the science and artistry of sound and music. It allows students to explore how sound works, the fundamentals of music, and its cultural significance, stimulating their creativity and analytical skills. Â
We are now in the middle of learning about the wonders of the world including the pyramids, The Great Barrier Reef and the northern lights. This theme encourages critical thinking about how these wonders were formed or created, and what they signify for different cultures.
Next we will be learning about reactions and mixtures. This theme provides immersive, hands-on experiences with basic chemical reactions and mixtures. It instills in students a fundamental understanding of chemical principles, empowering them to conduct their own experiments and observe the results.Â
En el 2024 continuaremos aprendiendo sobre el mundo a través de la Ciencia, el Arte, la IngenierÃa y la TecnologÃa. En enero aprendimos sobre el Sonido y la Música. Este tema combina la ciencia y el arte del sonido y la música. Permite a los estudiantes explorar cómo funciona el sonido, los fundamentos de la música y su importancia cultural, estimulando su creatividad y habilidades analÃticas.
Ahora estamos en medio de aprender sobre las maravillas del mundo, incluidas las pirámides, la Gran Barrera de Coral y las auroras boreales. Este tema fomenta el pensamiento crÃtico sobre cómo se formaron o crearon estas maravillas y qué significan para diferentes culturas.
A continuación, estaremos aprendiendo sobre reacciones y mezclas. Este tema proporciona experiencias inmersivas y prácticas con reacciones quÃmicas básicas y mezclas. Inculca en los estudiantes una comprensión fundamental de los principios quÃmicos, capacitándolos para realizar sus propios experimentos y observar los resultados.
Professional Development/ Desarrollo Profesional:
Type hereOn Monday, January 15 Happy Hall staff gatheried for team building activities, curriculum training and discussions about upcoming goals. We were happy to have the time to build our knowledge and team morale. We will be gathering for a company party on February 17 and we can’t wait to celebrate our teachers.Â
El lunes 15 de enero, el personal de Happy Hall se reunió para actividades de construcción de equipo, capacitación en el currÃculo y discusiones sobre los próximos objetivos. Estábamos felices de tener tiempo para aumentar nuestro conocimiento y elevar la moral del equipo. Nos reuniremos para una fiesta de empresa el 17 de febrero y no podemos esperar para celebrar a nuestros maestros.

Looking Ahead/ Mirando hacia el futuro
This week you may see Camp Happy Hall fliers going home in backpacks from the school. This camp happens at Meadows Elementary each summer and is a private pay full day camp. This is not a free ASES camp. Â
If your child is selected to go to summer school at Lomita Park we will have a free after summer school ELOP camp from 12:30-6pm. Â
Esta semana es posible que veas folletos de Campamento Happy Hall que se enviarán a casa en las mochilas desde la escuela. Este campamento se lleva a cabo en la Escuela Primaria Meadows cada verano y es un campamento de dÃa completo de pago privado. No es un campamento ASES gratuito.
Si tu hijo es seleccionado para ir a la escuela de verano en Lomita Park, tendremos un campamento ELOP gratuito después de la escuela de verano de 12:30 a 6 p.m.
