Director's Message
Happy October! As fall settles in and the air turns crisp, we’re excited to begin another month full of learning, laughter, and connection. October is a wonderful time for creativity, exploration, and community and we have an exciting lineup of activities, special events, and seasonal fun planned for your children.
Program Highlights
Engagement Activities
This month, students will be engaging with two dynamic themes: Weather and Seasons and Sounds and Music.
In Weather and Seasons, students will explore the science behind shifting climates and seasonal changes. Through interactive projects, they’ll discover how weather impacts daily life and the natural world, strengthening their understanding of the connection between science and the environment.
From there, we’ll move into Sounds and Music, where curiosity and creativity come together. Students will uncover how sound is created, experiment with rhythm and pitch, and examine music’s role across cultures. This theme encourages both imaginative expression and scientific inquiry, giving students the chance to design and share their own musical creations.
Together, these units provide a balance of discovery and creativity. Helping students connect scientific concepts with artistic expression and the world around them.
Professional Development
We have some exciting staff development opportunities coming up. This weekend, some of our team will complete CPR and First Aid training as part of our continued commitment to ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all. Then, in mid-October, we’ll hold a larger professional development session focused on key topics that support and strengthen our programs. These training sessions not only help enhance our skills, but also give staff valuable time to connect, share ideas, and learn from the experiences of educators at other centers.
Reminders
We will be closed October 13, 2025.
Come by to check if your child is missing a jacket or a water bottle. Make sure to label all your child’s belongings with their name.
If your child will be absent from Happy Hall, please inform us via text, email, or through 1Core.
Looking Ahead
Looking ahead to next month, our theme will take students on a journey around the globe: Wonders of the World. Together, we’ll explore some of Earth’s most breathtaking landmarks, both natural and human-made. From vast mountain ranges and dramatic landscapes to ancient wonders and modern achievements, this unit sparks curiosity about geography, history, and culture. Through hands-on activities and thoughtful discussions, students will consider how these wonders were created, why they hold significance, and what they reveal about the people and places that shaped them.
