Happy Hall @ Meadows Newsletter | September

Director's Message

As the holiday season begins, we are excitedly preparing for our annual Halloween Haunted House and Potluck on Friday, October 31, 2025. Keep an eye out for the Potluck sign-up sheet coming soon!

Alongside all the fun, we remain dedicated to practicing life skills each day and continuing to foster a safe, caring community for everyone at Happy Hall.

During this busy season, it’s also important to find moments for you and your children to relax and recharge. The holidays can be overwhelming, and children may not always know how to express when they’re feeling tired or need a break. Even taking 5–10 minutes for quiet connection can make a big difference helping everyone feel refreshed, supported, and ready to enjoy the season together.

Program Highlights

Engagement Activities

This month, we kicked off our curriculum by continuing our exciting exploration of space, where children are learning about planets, stars, and the vastness of our universe through hands-on projects and creative play.

In the coming weeks, we’ll transition into our next themes — Weather & Seasons and Sounds & Music. During our Weather & Seasons unit, children will engage in activities that explore sunlight, shadows, wind, and the changes we see in nature as the seasons shift. They’ll observe how weather affects our daily lives and the world around us.

Our Sounds & Music theme will introduce children to melodies, rhythm, and the many types of sounds we experience — not just in music, but also in the natural world. Through songs, movement, and listening games, children will have opportunities to express themselves creatively while discovering how sound connects us to our environment and to each other.

Professional Development

This past weekend, several of our staff members updated their First Aid and CPR certifications, ensuring we are fully prepared to respond to emergencies and keep all children safe.

On Monday, October 13, staff will have the opportunity to participate in professional development focused on building strategies and skills to further support children in the classroom. These sessions will help enhance our team’s ability to foster a positive, engaging, and nurturing learning environment for every child.

Community Events

October 31: Happy Hall-oween Haunted House and Potluck.

Reminders

  • October 8–17: Early dismissal — all children will be picked up at 1:15 PM.

  • October 13: Happy Hall closed for Staff Development.

Reminder: No toys, trading cards, or other personal items should be brought from home. We cannot be responsible for any lost or broken items.

Looking Ahead

Next month, our themes will include Wonders of the World and Reactions and Mixtures. Children will explore both natural and man-made wonders from around the globe, learning about their unique features, history, and significance. In Reactions and Mixtures, children will engage in hands-on experiments to discover how different elements and ingredients interact with one another, exploring scientific reactions and, in some cases, creating tasty treats along the way.
