Director's Message
Hello Families!
We are settling into our routines and adjusting well to the new school year schedules. I’m excited to watch the children grow and learn throughout the year. Transitions are becoming smoother as we all acclimate to our daily routines and continue to build a strong community within the program.
Program Highlights
Engagement Activities
This month, our focus will be on Fall, Community Building, the Natural World, and Space Exploration. Our STEAM and movement activities will include exploring animal habitats, creating rock gardens and kindness rocks, building straw rocket ships, crafting origami constellations, making fizzy galaxies, playing the Critter Dash game, and engaging in Rock, Paper, Scissors, Hop.
In SEL (Social-Emotional Learning), we'll continue to foster friendships and work on life skills that help develop kind minds, kind words, and kind hearts.
Professional Development
Our amazing team at Meadows will be meeting with the Millbrae school-age team on October 14, 2024. During this meeting, we will focus on enhancing our classroom management, health and safety practices, as well as perform a general check-in.
Community Events
We would like to invite you to join us on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM for our welcoming event. We will discuss what the program looks like for your child and enjoy some simple snacks together.
Student Achievements
As mentioned earlier, we are regularly working on life skills with the children. When they demonstrate these skills, they earn tickets, which are placed in their group’s jar. Each Friday, we draw 5-6 tickets from each jar, and those selected can choose a prize. Additionally, we give out stickers when we see children striving to do the right thing for themselves or others, providing positive reinforcement as they work to achieve these skills.

Looking Ahead
Next month, we will continue our space theme and explore weather and seasons. We’ll also sprinkle in some Halloween fun throughout the month.
