Happy Hall @ Santa Inez Newsletter | June

Director's Message

Hello everyone!

Happy Hall Santa Inez will be embarking on a fun filled adventure this summer!

Starting with the week of June 10th we will visit the enchanted land of Storybook Characters. The week of June 17th we will be planting and gardening and the week of June 24th we will be cooking and counting. Along with these fun filled days we will be doing water play: We will set up  water tables and  incorporate toys like cups, funnels, and boats for added fun. Story time we will choose books with different summer themes and read them to the children. Follow up with related activities, like drawing scenes from the story. We will learn about Juneteenth. We will be doing lots of bubbles and use  various wands for bubble blowing. A fun bouncy house is in the works along with pizza making during cooking week.

Mandarin Program

Mandarin Program to start our new school year!

We are thrilled to announce the introduction of an exciting new Mandarin Dual Language Program at Happy Hall  set to begin in the new school year on August 19th. This program is designed to provide our young  learners with the opportunity to develop proficiency in both Mandarin and English, while also gaining a deep appreciation for Chinese culture.

Program Highlights:

  • Bilingual Curriculum: Our curriculum integrates both Mandarin and English equally, ensuring that children are exposed to and learn both languages through play-based and interactive methods.

  • Cultural Activities: We will celebrate Chinese Lunar  New Year, and incorporate traditional songs, stories, and arts into our daily activities.

  • Experienced Teachers: Our program will be  staffed by a highly qualified  teacher who is fluent in Mandarin and has extensive experience in early childhood education. Completing the team will be two teachers fluent in English.

Benefits of Bilingual Education:

  • Enhanced Cognitive Skills: Research shows that bilingual education enhances cognitive abilities, including problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking.

  • Cultural Awareness: Learning a second language from an early age fosters cultural understanding and sensitivity.

  • Future Opportunities: Bilingualism opens up a world of future academic and career opportunities for children in our increasingly global society.

Enrollment Criteria:

  • Children must be three years of age by August 19th  or older.

  • Children are completely toilet learned. (no exceptions)

  • Limited spaces will be available.

We are confident that this new program will provide a rich and rewarding experience for your child, and we look forward to embarking on this bilingual journey together.

Attendance By Sign Up Reminder

Happy Hall School @ Santa Inez is open Friday, July 5th from 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM.  Historically, attendance is very low on days surrounding a major holiday.

We require families to sign up if their child will be attending on this date in order to staff appropriately ( tuition remains the same regardless of attendance. There is no additional fee to sign up.)  Please note, children will most likely not be in their normal group and grouping will depend on the number of children who are signed up to attend.

You must complete this form link above by end of day, Sunday, June 30, 2024 to secure a space.  After June 30, children may be added pending staffing review.

Arriving before circle time starts can help set your child's day off to a consistent routine. Allowing children time to ease into the day smoothly and join their classmates in engaging activities right from the beginning.

Absence days or medical appointments can be marked within the 1Core Family App > “Record Absence”.  If days are missed due to illness or other needs please communicate with the school. Illnesses that can affect the school community must be reported to your child's teacher or school office.

Please refer to the Family Handbook for timeframe children may return to school after illness guidelines.  Family Handbook
