Director's Message
Welcome to Happy Hall at Spring Valley!
We’re delighted to start a new year with both familiar families and those joining us for the first time. At Happy Hall, our focus is on providing a safe, supportive, and fun environment where students can continue learning, exploring, and building friendships after the school day ends. With engaging activities and plenty of opportunities for growth, we’re excited to see all the wonderful experiences this year will bring. Here’s to a fantastic year ahead!
We’re so happy to welcome back our wonderful teachers and introduce some new members of our Happy Hall family at Spring Valley!

Each of our teachers brings their own special energy, care, and creativity to the program, and together they’re excited to create a fun, supportive space where every child can grow, learn, and feel at home after school.
Program Highlights
Engagement Activities
We’ve started the school year by focusing on Community, a theme that helps students feel connected, included, and valued. Through engaging activities and meaningful conversations, they’ve been setting goals, celebrating each other’s strengths, and working together to build a welcoming classroom environment.
As we continue with this theme, students will also be learning more about the people, places, and systems that make up their local community. This ongoing focus is designed to help them see the important role they play in strengthening their surroundings and inspire them to be caring, active contributors both in and out of the classroom.
Professional Development
At Happy Hall Spring Valley, we believe that taking care of children also means continuing to learn and grow ourselves. To start the year, our teaching team came together for professional development sessions focused on safety, consistency, and creating a smooth, welcoming experience for every child. Teachers also completed important trainings, including Mandated Reporter certification, classroom management strategies, and child development practices. These sessions gave us time to reflect, share ideas, and strengthen our skills—so we can provide the best possible care, guidance, and support for your children throughout the year.
Community Events
We truly enjoyed connecting with so many families at Back-to-School Night on Thursday. It was a wonderful way to kick off the school year and celebrate the strong, supportive community we’re building together at Spring Valley. We look forward to many more opportunities to connect, share, and grow alongside you and your children throughout the year.
Reminders
Please remind your child that toys, collectibles, and other personal items from home should not be brought to Happy Hall, as we cannot take responsibility for items that may be lost, broken, or misplaced.
If your child will be absent, please notify Happy Hall Spring Valley by phone, email, text message, or through One Core.
Looking Ahead
As we wrap up our “Community” theme next month, we’ll be shifting our focus to “The Natural World.” This unit will invite students to explore the wonders of nature through activities, experiments, and observations. Together, we’ll discover the variety of ecosystems around us, learn about the plants and animals that make them unique, and discuss the importance of caring for our environment. Our goal is to help students build a deeper appreciation for the world we share and inspire them to become thoughtful stewards of nature.
