Director's Message
As we bid farewell to September, we are excited to begin October filled with fresh opportunities for growth and discovery. This is a special time for students to reconnect with friends, embrace new challenges, and build on their learning journey. Our dedicated team is committed to fostering a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where every child can thrive. We look forward to partnering with you throughout the year to celebrate successes and navigate challenges together.
Program Highlights
Engagement Activities:
This month was filled with creativity and collaboration! We welcomed the fall season with a variety of arts and crafts, including fall trees, colorful leaves, and fun coffee cup projects.
For Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), students engaged in games that encouraged teamwork, patience, and kindness. Through these activities, children practiced taking turns, listening respectfully, and supporting their peers as they shared answers and ideas with the group.
October brings exciting new themes and learning opportunities! We will be exploring outer space, including the moon landing, solar eclipses, and much more. To celebrate the season, we’ll also continue with fall-inspired discussions and creative art activities. With so many engaging topics, October is sure to be a fun and enriching month for our students!
Professional Development
We have several staff development opportunities on the horizon. This weekend, our team will participate in CPR and First Aid training as part of our ongoing commitment to keeping everyone safe and healthy. In mid-October, we will host a broader professional development session covering key topics relevant to our programs. These trainings also provide valuable time for staff to connect with colleagues, exchange ideas, and learn how teachers at other centers approach their work.
Community Events
🎃 BOO FEST – October 25 Join your school community for Boo Fest on October 25! It’s sure to be a wonderful afternoon of fun and celebration.
👻 Happy Hall Halloween – October 31 On Halloween, Happy Hall will host its very own celebration! Students in grades 3–5 will create booths with games and trick-or-treat activities for everyone to enjoy. We’ll also have festive snacks, small prizes, and a hearty serving of nachos for all children. The fun will run 2-3 pm !
Student Achievements
We are excited to introduce our Star Student program! Over the past few weeks, we have proudly recognized Maya, Rory, Isobel, and Daphne as our Star Students. Each of them has set an example for their peers and contributed to a supportive, thriving school community.
Each day, we look for students who demonstrate star qualities, such as responsibility, creativity, and sharing new skills with friends, among many others. Every Wednesday, our Star Students are announced and celebrated in class. Along with recognition, they enjoy special rewards, including selecting a prize from the prize box and, at times, the privilege of leading the snack line.
Reminders
Please continue to let Happy Hall know if your child will not be attending our program. When we are not notified, staff must spend time looking for children who don’t arrive as expected.

We truly appreciate your communication and support in keeping us informed of any changes. This helps us ensure every child’s safety and well-being.
We kindly ask that children do not bring toys from home to Happy Hall. If a toy is brought to school, we will ask that it remain safely tucked away in the child’s backpack for the day. Please note that Happy Hall cannot be responsible for any toys that become lost or broken.
Looking Ahead
Next month, we’ll dive into exciting new themes designed to spark the children’s curiosity! Our focus will be on outer space, with a variety of hands-on activities to bring learning to life. We’re also looking forward to sharing plenty of fall fun with you and your families.
