Director's Message
Welcome to October! With autumn in full swing and the seasons shifting, we’re looking forward to another month filled with growth, fun, and connection. October brings opportunities for creativity, discovery, and community building and we’re excited to share a calendar full of engaging activities, festive events, and seasonal celebrations for your children.
Program Highlights
Engagement Activities
This month, our students will explore two exciting themes: Weather and Seasons and Sounds and Music.
In “Weather and Seasons”, students will dive into the science behind changing weather patterns and seasonal shifts. Through hands-on activities, they'll learn how climate affects their environment and everyday lives—developing a strong connection between nature and science.
Next, we’ll transition into “Sounds and Music”, where science meets creativity. Students will investigate how sound works, explore musical elements like rhythm and pitch, and learn about the cultural importance of music around the world. This theme encourages both creative expression and analytical thinking as students experiment with sound and even create their own musical pieces.
Together, these themes offer a rich blend of scientific discovery and artistic exploration—helping students make meaningful connections between the world around them and their own experiences.
Professional Development
We have some exciting staff development opportunities coming up. This weekend, some of our team will complete CPR and First Aid training as part of our continued commitment to ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all. Then, in mid-October, we’ll hold a larger professional development session focused on key topics that support and strengthen our programs. These training sessions not only help enhance our skills, but also give staff valuable time to connect, share ideas, and learn from the experiences of educators at other centers.
Reminders
We will be closed October 13, 2025.
Please remind students that toys, collectibles, and other personal items from home should not be brought to Happy Hall, as we cannot be held responsible for any lost, broken, or stolen items.
Come by to check if your child is missing a jacket or a water bottle. Make sure to label all your child’s belongings with their name.
If your child will be absent from Happy Hall, please inform us via text, email, or through 1Core.
Looking Ahead
Next month, we’ll embark on a global adventure with our theme: Wonders of the World. Students will explore some of the planet’s most awe-inspiring landmarks—both natural and man-made. From towering mountains and deep canyons to ancient temples and modern marvels, this theme invites curiosity about geography, history, and culture. Through engaging activities and discussions, students will think critically about how these wonders came to be, why they matter, and what they reveal about the people and places connected to them.
