Director's Message
Happy April, Happy Hall - Lomita Park Families!!
I hope everyone has been doing well and staying warm or cool during these continuously unprecedented and fluctuating weather conditions! As we begin to close in on the end of the school year, we have a lot of fun activities planned for the students to enjoy and to celebrate all of their accomplishments and hard work. We will make sure to send out an email with all of the details once everything is finalized. As always, if you ever have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out and inquire!
Program Highlights
Engagement Activities
This month, the curriculum themes are: “Olympic Competitors” and “Insect Investigation.” Some of the topics we’ll be exploring include: “The Science of Sports,” “Bug Biology,” “Insect Habitats,” and much more! The students will have the opportunity to learn interesting facts about each topic and dive into fun and engaging STEAM activities.
Professional Development
Our Administration Team recently participated in a three-day training focused on Connection & Collaboration, Strategy & Vision, and Planning & Innovation. It was an invaluable opportunity to gain new insights, collaborate, and reconnect as a team dedicated to supporting our staff, families, and children.
Looking ahead, Friday, April 25 will be a Summer Staff Development Day focused on summer camp protocols and safety. This training will serve as both an essential orientation for new staff and a valuable refresher for returning team members. We’re excited as we prepare for another great summer!
Reminders
Fall registration is opening soon! Be sure to check our website and stay tuned for announcements so you can secure your spot for the new school year.
Toys Policy
Please remember that toys are not allowed at Happy Hall as we are not liable for any lost, stolen, or broken items. We want to ensure that no child has to go through this, and this policy helps us reduce such incidents. We appreciate your cooperation! If you have any questions, please let us know.
Attendance Notification
Please send us an email whenever your child(ren) will not be attending the after-school program at lomitapark@happyhall.com. This helps us account for everyone’s whereabouts and ensure their safety. If we do not receive a notification, we will follow up with a phone call. After 7 unexcused absences, students will be removed from the program.
AM Care Policy
Students should arrive between 7:00 am and 7:30 am. Arrivals after 7:30 am will be marked late. After 7 late arrivals, students will be removed from the AM care program but can still attend the after-school program if enrolled. For late arrivals, please complete the on-site form. If the reason is excusable, it will be recorded as such.
Early Pickup Procedure
If you need to pick up your student early, please sign the early pickup form located at the sign-out cart in the MUR. If the form is not available, ask a staff member to provide it. After 7 early pickups without a signed form, the student will be removed from the program.
Walk-Home Authorization
If you wish for your child to walk home, you must complete the Walk-Home Authorization Form for each student. Please reach out if you need assistance or have questions—we’re happy to help!
