Director's Message
September has been such a busy month, but in the best way! All of our classrooms have settled into their routines and transitions, and the school year is off to a great start. The teachers have been hard at work building their curriculum for the year, and we’ve also welcomed lots of new friends into a few of our classrooms. It’s been so nice to see the kids adjusting, making new friendships, and really starting to feel at home.
We wrapped up the month with our Learning in Action events, and they were such a success! Parents joined in for circle time, got to explore activities alongside their child, and saw firsthand all the thoughtful work the teachers put into creating these experiences. It was so special to see our Happy Hall community come together and share in the joy of learning, we couldn’t have asked for a better way to end the month.
Program Highlights
Engagement Activities
This month, our classrooms have been busy exploring letters of the week! By focusing on one letter at a time, students are strengthening their early literacy skills and building a solid foundation for reading and writing. Alongside this, we’ve been working on both fine and gross motor skills through a variety of activities, including manipulatives, sensory bins, cutting lines, and using tweezers. These activities not only help with coordination but also support proper pencil grip and early writing development.
We’ve also been excited to incorporate Mandarin Circles once a week in each classroom with Ms. Queenie. The students have been really enjoying these sessions and engaging with the language in fun, hands-on ways. In addition, each classroom has added a Spanish Circle, creating even more opportunities for language development and building early communication skills.
With fall approaching and Halloween just around the corner, the students have been channeling their creativity into beautiful seasonal art projects. From colorful leaves to festive decorations, the classrooms are buzzing with excitement and creativity as we celebrate the season together.
Professional Development
Happy Hall will be closed on Monday, October 13 for a Staff Development Day. This day provides our teachers with the opportunity to participate in hands-on training, engage in staff meetings, and prepare student portfolios.
We appreciate your understanding as our team takes this time to continue growing professionally and enhancing the learning experience for all students.
Reminders
Please continue to use your unique 4-digit code to sign your child in and out each day.
For children in the Maple or Birch classrooms, please provide a monthly supply of diapers and baby wipes to ensure we have enough for daily diaper changes.
For upcoming dates and school closures, please check the Happy Hall Events calendar posted in the main entry lobby.
Thank you for helping us keep our routines smooth and our classrooms well-stocked!
