Director's Message
Happy April, Happy Hall families! I hope that everyone has been doing well and enjoying the slightly warmer weather as we spring forward into the spring season!
The main focus this month for our program are two enriching and intriguing topics, Movie Magic and Time Travelers! We will also be enjoying various springtime weather and fun movement activities outdoors to enjoy the spring air!
¡Feliz abril, familias de Happy Hall! ¡Espero que todos estén bien y disfrutando del clima ligeramente más cálido mientras avanzamos hacia la temporada de primavera!
El enfoque principal este mes para nuestro programa son dos temas enriquecedores e intrigantes: ¡Magia del Cine y Viajeros en el Tiempo! También estaremos disfrutando de diversas actividades al aire libre relacionadas con el clima primaveral y el movimiento para disfrutar del aire fresco de la primavera.
Program Highlights
Engagement Activities:
This month, our after school program is embracing the dynamic world of “Oceans and Marine Life, as well as Inventions & Inventors,” which marks the exciting Theme 9 and 10 of our curriculum. Among the range of educational STEAM activities planned, some standout projects the students will get to engage in are as follows:
TK - K: Students will get to have fun learning all about motion pictures and how they are created. This week the students will get the chance to create their very own still motion like picture, with the use of various creative materials and resources to create the illusion of a moving picture.
1-2 and 3-5: Students will get to have hands-on experience learning about storyboards for motion pictures and how they are utilized in the creation. In addition, students will get the chance to create their own storyboard to depict a story or motion picture of their own and use their creativity to design the pictures and story behind each one.
Este mes, nuestro programa después de la escuela está abrazando el dinámico mundo de "Océanos y Vida Marina, así como Inventos e Inventores", que marca los emocionantes Temas 9 y 10 de nuestro plan de estudios. Professional Development
This month, our administrative team had the opportunity to host a staff training for all of the Happy Hall Teachers. The primary focus of the training was aimed to further enhance skills, knowledge and capabilities of our teachers to improve not only our after school programs, but to also improve the overall experience for you and your children. Some of the main topics of discussion included: Understanding behavior utilizing the developmental stages, managing challenging behaviors, 3 R’s (Regulate, Relate, Reason), supervision and documentation. We also introduced staff to our summer camp routines.
Este mes, nuestro equipo administrativo tuvo la oportunidad de organizar una capacitación para todo el personal docente de Happy Hall. El enfoque principal de la capacitación fue mejorar aún más las habilidades, conocimientos y capacidades de nuestros maestros para mejorar no solo nuestros programas después de la escuela, sino también para mejorar la experiencia general para ustedes y sus hijos. Algunos de los principales temas de discusión incluyeron: comprender el comportamiento utilizando las etapas del desarrollo, manejar comportamientos desafiantes, las 3 R (Regular, Relacionarse, Razonar), supervisión y documentación. Community Events
Happy Halls just had a very fun and successful Spring Camp filled with various spring themed activities, including science and art projects. Thank you all who were able to attend and have fun with us, we hope you enjoyed engaging in all of the planned activities both indoor and outdoor!
We are excited to announce we will be having two available summer programs to offer this year! We will be having our Camp Happy Hall, located at Meadows Elementary School. This program will run for 10 weeks and include various fun indoor/outdoor activities, as well as STEAM and possibly some exciting special guests! If you would like more information about this summer program in regards to costs, registration, or just more information, you can visit the following link https://www.camphappyhall.com/
In addition, the second program being offered this summer is for students who are attending summer school. This specific program will be 4 weeks long, running the duration of the summer school schedule. This program may be able to be obtained for free if certain qualifications are met. For more information about this program, registration, qualification, etc. you may reach out to the Millbrae School District.

Also, we are thrilled to announce that the Enrollment Request Form for the School Year 2024-2025 is now ready! This form is your gateway to securing a spot for your child at Lomita Park Happy Hall for the next academic year. For those families with 5th graders transitioning to Taylor, we also have a Happy Hall on-site, and you can utilize the same link provided below to sign up.
